His brother Jocqui made a video saying Jussie was moved to the psych Ward in Cook County - his paperwork states that he was at risk of hurting himself.

Jocqui says this isn't true (that Jussie isn't in that state of self harm) and is unsure why he has been committed.

I saw that video of Jussie proclaiming over and over in court that he wasn't suicidal, like someone was gonna off him. He seems paranoid at least.

Given the rates of “suicides” that happen to black people in the prison system, I can understand his reasoning behind his proclamations. It’s a high profile case, which only draws more attention to him, which could put him at higher risk to become a victim, and have authorities say, “oh gee he killed himself by pummeling himself in the back of the head”

Oh I didn't know about that.

Are you American? It’s sadly very common for that stuff to happen here. If you get a chance look up the Sandra Bland case, she was arrested for a minor traffic violation, mysteriously died in jail, and it was ruled a suicide. That’s the most high profile recent case, but it happens all too often and rarely gets talked about.

No I'm Swedish but I do remember the Sandra Bland case, it was so fucked up. And now that you mentioned it I can imagine Jussie will have an even bigger target on his back due to racist cops who are pissed at what he did.

Also - suicide management cells are horrible. You have no privacy, no tools/books to pass the time, your food is whatever can be consumed without cutlery, the lights never turn off, and you're woken up by "checks" at all hours of the night. Also those cells stink.
Any rational person would emphatically state that they don't want or need that.

NO

WHAT?!

After he clearly stated he wasn't suicidal?
Y'all, I will actually lose it if this man is murdered.

So tbh… when he yelled in court about not being suicidal… it really concerned me that in fact he would self-harm.
It did seem like something that any reasonable person should flag, especially given what he did to put him there.

Given that he "called" it, I am skeptical. He's playing a game and it's ruining his life.

they know so little about what is actually happening in their sibling's mind. jussie is clearly not well at all.

he's pissed off a lot of different factions. it's most likely a move to protect him, rather than a true assessment of his mental state. fucking pathetic that he's in jail.

i mean, him saying "i am not suicidal" at his conviction was a pretty big red flag for me. idk if his family is just too close to it to see what's happening but he's clearly not well. he should've been put in some type of mental health treatment center instead of prison to begin with.

I mean whether we agree with it or not I feel like just him mentioning the word suicidal is going to put them on alert and put systems into place to make sure nothing happens. It’s kind of like saying bomb at an airport- no matter what it’s going to put others on alert.
