Season 2, just like the book is absolutely awful.

the first half of season 1 was perfect then it went downhill from there, you're not missing too much honestly

It started well. It had great characterization, beautiful scenery, intriguing plot, great chemistry between the leads, but there was a huge tonal shift in season 4 and I never got around to finishing it.

This show is real heavy on rape. I made it part way through season one, googled if rape was a common plot point, confirmed it was and then promptly stopped watching.

Yeah the writer's obsession with rape and assault was beyond anything I've seen before, she literally said to Sam Heughan she couldn't wait to see his rape scene come to life in season 1. Like, she's unhinged.

It’s not worth it. I watched it when it first started airing but stopped (ngl I liked Frank more than Jamie and obviously he was gonna get dogged and I didn’t want to watch that lmao). But also for the reasons theactualworst mentioned above.

As an outlying opinion, I watch this show and enjoy it but it’s not really good.
