All of this could be true but it should have been apparent that they needed to cancel much sooner than the day before the first show. If the set pieces aren’t there, how do you set up the lighting? Other reports said they hadn’t decided to use a choir or not so how do you set up a soundboard? If you’re not running rehearsals with these elements in place a week before the first show at the very latest how can you not cancel right away?

So either she’s unprofessional or lying. Or I guess so lazy that she didn’t plan to rehearse at all. None of those are good options.

This. Cancelling on the day of or one day before makes sense when something urgent and unexpected happened, but "Oops, we haven't set up anything or decided on a choir yet!" on literally the day before opening is not an unexpected event...

There was a really great exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London a few years ago (not sure if it's permanent). Walking through, it allowed the visitor to see every facet of thought and consideration that goes into a production from initial concepting to costumes to sound to stage set-up to lighting. There is NO WAY IN HELL this was all done last minute. None.

The thing I most remember from this exhibit was a replica of Kylie Minogue's dressing room for one of her tours. It was so interesting.

It's not exactly a replica. She donated the dressing room in full to them after the tour, the V&A photographed every inch and keeps it exactly as she left on the last day of the tour. I love seeing it, every time I go there you got something new to look at... You can still see it at the Theatre and performance section

Is the Kylie display still there now or was that a temporary installation?

The last time I went to the V&A was about 6-8 months ago and it was still there! They have it displayed in their theatre and performance section. If you watch BBC's Secrets of the Museum they show how they made sure to reset the whole thing as she left and how they maintain it. It's super cool
