My film a day goal is still in action, so I saw a lot recently!

Crip Camp, Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild, The Hater, Princess Mononeke, Prince of Egypt, Coded Bias, Les Contes de la nuits, Bulado and Pray Away.

Princess, Prince and Bulado were my favourites.

I've seen a couple of this week's releases already -

Belfast: Really didn't like this, which I know seems hard to imagine from the trailer. I won't get spoilery, but the cinematography is ugly, the storyline is weak as hell, there's no real point of view, and there's zero character development. That being said, the performances are fine and it's very watchable, so I expect a general audience will like it. But I will be disappointed as hell if this ends up winning Best Picture.

tick, tick... BOOM!: I will fully admit I am a theater kid at heart, so I realize that maybe this film will not appeal to everyone, but I absolutely loved it!! Andrew Garfield is incredible, and would easily be in the Best Actor convo if this wasn't a musical, and I hope he can get there anyway. Robin de Jesus is also fantastic! Everyone else is good, too, but no one else really has a big enough part to shine outside of the ensemble. The film is well-structured, and emotional without being manipulative. The music is incredible, and I really loved the ( ... )

I'm glad you liked TTB! I was going to wait to see it after my dad left, but he suggested going tonight so hopefully that'll work out. I'm super excited!

Kenneth Branagh's movie (at least visually) looks like a rip off of Paweł Pawlikowski's Cold War 👀

I finally saw No Time To Die. I really enjoyed it up till the third act. The ending felt somewhat anticlimactic.

From the video thumbnail for tick tick boom I thought it was a new musical about a young Cosmo Kramer.
