actually watched a lot of stuff this week, it almost felt like old times (except nothing was in a theater lol)! annette, pig, gunda (all of which i loved), vacation friends (good dumb fun), and wrath of man (meh). tv-wise, we ate up the first 3 episodes of only murders in the building, such a delight! hulu is crushing it rn, so many good shows especially with what we do in the shadows coming back tomorrow. sorry op, i know this is technically a movie post lmao it's just exciting to have new things to watch again!!

I will ALWAYS appreciate the time you take to make these posts OP, thank you!! 💜

I made the huge mistake of thinking Vacation Friends would be a mildly entertaining movie to watch over the weekend in the background and I gravely misjudged and regret that decision.

I feel that nobody is talking about the fact that it has [Spoiler (click to open)]implied rape, if not actual rape in it and immediately after that revelation came to light I turned it off. I have no idea if it actually did happen or not, and don't care. I'm so fcking tired of those "jokes"

i was explaining that scene to my brother when he asked about the movie and we were just like "if they did that scene with a woman people would be pissed." but i guess because it was with a man it's funny?! so disgusting!!

ohmigod THANK YOU for talking about this. that scene put such a bad taste in my mouth and i was shocked but then unsurprised no one talked about it. i was hoping it was just a one off bad joke but [Spoiler (click to open)]it's not because the white chick gets pregnant so for half the movie lil rel thinks the baby is his and even claims it at the rehearsal dinner or something? it was so uncomfortable

We've got Shang-Chi tickets for tomorrow night, but not super interested in anything else coming out this week.

Went to see Jungle Cruise last night. Despite the audience being kind of obnoxious ( think it was prob just some teens that did not gaf about the movie), I enjoyed it! Nothing amazing, but decently entertaining, which is all I was hoping for from this film. The Rock needs to stop pretending he has the range to be a romantic lead (because he does not!!) but Emily Blunt carried that as best she could.

Other recent watches included Annette (not for me, unfortunately) and a rewatch of The Dark Knight Rises.

Was gonna go see Reminiscence today to use up my last A-List reservation for the week, but the only AMC still showing it near me already has people sitting in my favorite seats! So yeah, will probably just watch it at home.

Spending the next couple of days looking for reviews/reactions to festival films!!

That's a lot! I watched Ernest & Celestine (adorable!), and am now close to finishing The Afterlife of the Party (much less awful than expected).
