Instagram filter is causing an uproar due to swastika

An Instagram filter has been causing controversy lately. “Old School,” which gives the appearance that the user’s skin is covered in tattoos, including a swastika.
Influencer and loungewear founder of soft wear, Sabrina Zohar, with more than 17,000 followers on Instagram, denounced the filter over the symbol related to Nazism. But a spokesperson for Facebook, said the filter “does not violate our policies”. The company said it recognizes that the imagery “can be used in cultural context that predates Nazism” and does not plan on removing the filter.
Anastasia Truita Tkachenko, Russian creator of the filter, said the symbol is a Slavic symbol and “symbolizes good, the sun and life.” The symbol tilts its bent arms in a different direction - counter-clockwise - than the Nazi swastika.
It is a symbol of divinity and spirituality in religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism and many countries in Eurasia. In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness until the 1930s when it became part of Nazi symbolism.
