- Lawn Dogs was her first movie, which featured very adult themes when she was still just a child.
- Had her first kiss on-screen (and in real life) in front of an entire crew in Pups. Was sexualised and became a 'sex symbol' in Asia at the time, despite being 13.
- Was still a virgin when she started playing Marissa Cooper in The O.C., and felt like a 'fraud' because of it, as the show featured a lot of sex.
- Was a 'teenager in an adult world', and referred to as a 'nightmare' to work with when trying to stand up for herself. Was told that her mother shouldn't remain on her team - even though she was trying to guide and protect her.
- Others on the show hated that there was so much media attention on her compared to the others.
- Paparazzi would chase her car, climb into her house, make deals with restaurants.
- Had breakdowns and PTSD as a result.
- Dealt with an ex filming her without consent/knowledge and trying to sell a sex tape of her in 2017.
