I haven’t watched this yet, but there was a joke earlier in the season about hair care routines that included a graphic with Pink Oil Moisturizer in the bathroom cabinet. I was like, “Oh okay they’re diversifying that writers room.”

He also made a joke about Elmo’s mom rollers and the Black writer was so happy that their joke made it.

this was very good. i watched this when someone linked it in the most recent little mix/jesy nelson post and was like damn, whichever black folk contributed to this is really hittin at the heart of me lmao.

him talking about sittin in the chair in the kitchen holding them ears to get the edges with the hot comb... whew hahaha.

i have been having so many interviews, one today even, and all the interviewers have been white folk, and its always a thought in the back of my mind if I am at a disadvantage cuz I wear my hair natural.

Yes about the hot comb memories.

Also, I am very tempted to try the technique used in the archive vid bc I still have a hot comb

I hope you get a great job❤

(preface: I'm white but with long 3C curly hair) I've been told that I should go to interviews with my hair straightened rather than wear my hair natural. (I've ignored that advice. Fuck that.)

This was a little weird for me but maybe white people talking to write people will reduce some questions.

I did laugh when leslie said she'd see us at the meeting later 😂 I will never not laugh at jokes like that.

God, I love him. It would have been cool if he let the writer do this segment (like Seth Meyers does), but I guess that could come off gimmicky. Anyway, can’t wait to watch this. I’m sure it’ll be equal parts cringe/informative.
