Fuck Justin.

I still maintain to this day that JC should’ve been the one to make it after NSYNC.

My hot take is that NSync were of their time and that none of them deserved long-term fame. The Backstreet Boys had better vocals (and more classic songs).

I remember Nick Carter & Justin were both doing the solo thing at the same time and Nick was hyped to be the big thing. His album pretty much flopped. I still listen to the odd song from it now and again.

I was a hugeeee BSB fan and casually liked *NSYNC I don’t even think I remember Nick having a solo career but even tween me knew those two were less deserving of a solo career. I never understood how JC didn’t get pushed into having a great solo. His vocals were miles ahead of Justin

Nick's album Now or Never was released around the end of 2002 I think. I was never a fan of NSync, only knew a couple of their songs. However I do know that JC had a far better voice.

Interesting. I was over BSB around 1999 so maybe it wasn’t on my radar and that’s why it’s drawing a blank lol

NSYNC had better harmonies. BSB just had better / more fair solo distribution.

imo bsb were ultimately way more corny whereas nsync actually took risks in their music

JC got shafted after the Super Bowl performance, too. I know he had at least one appearance cancelled due to his proximity to Justin.

Seriously?! That just makes me hate Justin even more.

Yeah, I looked it up and it was the Pro Bowl. JC came out and complained about it.

Yep. He was supposed to play ProBowl not long after. First they tried to change what songs he was singing (as some of his were very overtly sexual) and JC said fine, sure, tried to work with them on it, but then they just decided to cancel him completely. There's a video floating around of him talking about it after

Facts and I will never be over it.

I was more of a BSB Stan but liked *NSYNC too and JC was always the better singer and deserved better.

As much as I prefer JC over Timberlake, I could see why the media pushed for and favored Justin to go solo over JC.

JC has the bigger talent but Justin didn't mind doing the legwork and doing people dirty to use them as stepping stones to get that solo career. Justin is quintessentially a clout chaser. He knew by dating Britney Spears it would hold some longevity in pop culture media. And he also knew when to throw her away once the timing was right to establish his solo career. The documentary cemented my suspicions he used Britney to go for that solo gold, AND with that killer Timbaland signature beat his solo career was paved through misogyny and slut shaming.

I don't think JC is the type to bloody his hands to get to the top. I don't know him nor follow him enough but my guess is, he is too much of a decent guy to throw someone under the bus for fame and glory.
