I really liked her look in buffy vs dracula. Pink leather/pleather shouldn't work but it did here.

Wasn't it season 5 and 6 when SMG was a spokeswoman for some shampoo brand, or something? I think I remember reading somewhere that's part of where the focus on her hair in "Gone" came from, and why the Scoobies kept getting distracted from the real crisis with, "Wait, you cut your hair?"

Im not sure but I was devastated when she cut her hair in S6. The temporary transitionary wig they put her in during that episode was HORRID.

It was truly horrible. Looking back and watching it now, I'm like, "Who did they think they were fooling with that?" Especially knowing their budget increased SO MUCH when they switched to UPN...y'all couldn't spring for a better wig?

I still wonder where all that extra money went to in S6. Apart from the premiere, OMWF, it felt like S5 overall looked better.

Regular cast member usually got contracted for five seasons back in those days. (The magic number of 100 episodes - when syndication money got really good - was usually reached during a fifth season.) With all the regulars getting to renegotiate their contracts, that's probably where all the money went.

Could very well be true but Joss wanted a higher production budget so I dont think they'd go through all that trouble just to "waste" that extra money on the cast pay.

Though just looking it up, depending on if its true, she got paid 75k/episode S1-5, $100k/episode for S6, 350k/episode for S7. Which is GOOD money considering it was UPN

i don't care enough to find where i read this, but alyson hannigan was making a quarter million per episode when they moved to UPN. i am sure SMG's salary was more for obvious reasons. i am sure that ate up whatever increased budget they received. i'd argue they actually probably went backwards considering it was cable.

I thought she cut her hair in S6 because she was filming that Scooby Doo movie? Something about it needing to be shorter to fit under the wig she was wearing.

Easily the best her hair looked on the show.
