I wonder if things continue the way they are with covid in the US, if we'll see a lot of other celebs leaving CA to move to Aus. I've always wanted to move to a different country, especially after living abroad for a year in my early 20s, and now I just feel trapped and desperate. I can't get over how dire our healthcare situation is.

Lol it was probably years in the making but I feel like 45’s presidency probably sped up those feelings in Americans or maybe I feel this more on the internet.

Yeah probably. He obviously has other reasons for wanting to live there than just getting out. Just wondering if we'll start seeing a trend

Idk why but the tea is cracking me up. Here it's only a matter of time before they start charging you to wait in the waiting room lmao. But as long as the Pentagon has $2B+/day and all our politicians get paid nearly $200k/year! /s

This is why I always curse and flip off the jets that fly extremely low over the city I live in. They're training for urban warfare. It's fucking propaganda and those stupid war machines cost SO MUCH MONEY. I just want healthcare like almost everywhere else in the world.

Same. Like, I wouldn't mind paying taxes if I actually got it back in social services but instead all our money is given to those places I listed above and corporations, the banks, and the wealthy. Normal people, ACTUAL taxpayers, just get fucked left and right and it pisses me off.

Absolutely. The whole military industrial complex in this country is out of control and has so much of the culture of this country in its thrall and it disgusts me.

It really is gross. Nationalism tinges everything. Fuck, you can't even catch a flight without a "thank you to our troops!" message from Delta playing. It's such bullshit and all these companies and the govt are hypocritical as fuck.

Driving through Florida while helping a friend move really reinforced it. We took one of the main scenic drives down the coast of the panhandle and had to drive alongside an airforce base there was some sign that I can't remember verbatim but it was something like Vigilance for America Reach for excellence Patriotism forever. It appalls me that army recruiters reach out to teenagers on e-sports and sponsor UFC events and advertise on everything. If you make a movie about the military it has to be approved by the fucking pentagon. In 2018 24 cents of every federal tax dollar went to the military. I just want healthcare and not to sponsor endless imperialism.

I can't even imagine. I have multiple health conditions that I have decided to just live with (migraines, IBS) bc the doctors are so uninterested and dimissive and eventually I just can't afford chasing care and trying to get them to test me or try something other than medication. My quality of life would improve so much if I could afford to see specialists but I can't even afford to go to the doctor enough to get a referral to one, and I have insurance.

Same! You spend hours and thousands of dollars trying to find a doctor who actually cares. I finally got a PCOS diagnosis this year that I have likely had for over a decade. There is a chance I may not be able to have children.

Mind you, I had one doctor tell me it was probably just depression.

My mom fractured her shoulder when we were in France and I couldn’t believe the level of care we received in the ER. Barely waited, they gave her pain meds, an X-ray, and had a second opinion from the surgeon to make sure she didn’t need surgery. Out within 3 hours. When my husband had an allergic reaction at home in the US we were literally waiting in the ER all night and didn’t get home until 6am the next day. I hate the US healthcare system.
