Catradora lliterally makes me sick. Catra reminds me way too much of a horribly abusive friend. I always have to tab out when watching the finale because of that kiss.

I mean, I guess my ex friend was a little better because she didn't try to murder me and/or my friends a bunch of time.
But the jealousy when I interacted with other friends, blaming me for everything bad in her life, all of that? Very similar.

Catra is a victim of the cycle of abuse and by the end of the show, throws off that upbringing and actually decides to change for the better.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean I have to be okay with her ending up with one of, if not THE person she's hurt the most?

I get where you're coming from. Catra really, really lashed out at all of her friends in a way that is really unlikable. But she does make the significant effort to change which why it worked for me personally. To each their own!

I recently rewatched the whole show and for me it was the definition of "too little, too late". Like, she tried to KILL Adora. More than once. Almost all of my friends love the ship so I tend to just not open my stupid mouth to say anything around them lol

but like, I'm glad that we have a lesbian She-ra and that she got to kiss her girl. Just... kinda wish the girl had been ... pretty much any other.

I mean, she and Adora were basically mortal enemies by that point, though. I get what you're saying, but I just don't agree. Abusive households affect people differently. Adora was the favored child and Catra was the scapegoat. For most of the show, Adora represented not only a rejection of Catra herself but an ideal of everything that Catra felt she could never be and it's only through her own realization that she ever comes to be changed for the better ( ... )

I don't really have anything to add to what you said, but I wanted to thank you for the respectful disagreement.

Not speaking to this show because I've never seen it, but I've seen it enough in other shows - or in fandoms (like people who think Kurt should have dated Karofsky) to agree 100 percent.

Idk if you get off on mocking abuse survivors or what, but anyway, I am fully aware it's a children's cartoon and think that only makes the fact that the protagonist ended up in a romantic relationship with her abuser worse.

i'm not mocking u i'm genuinely concerned that u can't even handle watching entertainment made for children. maybe u should watch it just to desensitize yourself and work thru ur trauma idk?
