I mean, she and Adora were basically mortal enemies by that point, though. I get what you're saying, but I just don't agree. Abusive households affect people differently. Adora was the favored child and Catra was the scapegoat. For most of the show, Adora represented not only a rejection of Catra herself but an ideal of everything that Catra felt she could never be and it's only through her own realization that she ever comes to be changed for the better.

Adora loved Catra platonically and later romantically. Putting her foot down in s3 finale to say "ENOUGH" was her way of telling Catra that she was breaking out of the yokes of their abusive childhood and she couldn't make Catra do that if she didn't want to. The entire next season is them showing how Catra is continually punished by the lashing out she does--she loses all her friends, Horde Prime only finds her useful as a cult member, etc. By this point, she is actively trying to push a "You and me, Hordak, against the world!!!" narrative because she has literally pushed everyone else away. Continuing to repeat the patterns of her abusive childhood is destroying her life and by the end of "Stranded" she has figured out that the only way she can pay for these actions and seek redemption for herself is by literally sacrificing her own life for Glimmer's. Catra was not aware Prime wanted to turn her into a cult member, she very likely thought she'd be executed for it.

I don't really have anything to add to what you said, but I wanted to thank you for the respectful disagreement.
