I think the thing is that he's Queen-first, above all. So throwing Charles under the bus, rather than the Queen, for the treatment of Diana makes sense.

oh yes for sure, the queen is never portrayed negatively. in previous seasons if it wasnt charles it was philip but never her. i mean shes by far the most popular royal, they throw anyone under the bus to protect her but then again thats sort of the point of the crown and what philip says to diana "everyone is an outsider except for the monarch" basically everyone can get fucked but the queen

Im only on season 3, but the actress that plays Diana is perfect. The show is definitely making me hate all of them other than Diana, I don’t understand how her parents let her marry into that family of psychos.

Diana wasn't all that close to her parents and they weren't super involved in her life. lol. I don't think they cared or saw the pitfalls? Only saw the benefit of being closer to the royal family.

Margaret was right in speaking up about how they should not get married and implying that the BRF was just perpetuating an endless cycle of control and abuse. Charles and Diana never had a chance. I sympathized with both of them and Camilla too.

Seems like so many of them are “victims of circumstance” on this extraordinary level, even Elizabeth to an extent. You hate to say that when really they are all so privileged and have every advantage in the world. However mental health and mental illness doesn’t discriminate and everyone has different levels of resiliency.

Love, affection and support are things we need as humans to have healthy relationships with ourselves and our families and tbh, I doubt QEII, gave her children that.

you're so right. i bet it might have fizzled out between them eventually. making camilla the forbidden fruit made it worse.
also, he wouldn't have been able to keep it in his pants. they paint it as this great tragic love triangle when he wasn't just cheating with camilla. he is just a disgusting human being, plain and simple.
