The problem with the royals is it's easier to feel sorry for them when its just them interacting with each other, but suddenly you put a normal-ish person in their midst and you're like OHHHH you are all absolute monsters! cool!

i don't think they seem to understand it's not the intricacies of the conversations or little details, it's the basic facts and attitudes that were made clear by them: we know they didn't like diana bringing HER NEW BABY on a months long trip with her, we know they openly mocked her eating disorder, we know charles openly cheated on her CONSTANTLY, and we know that they blamed Diana for all of those things.
