They basically pitched it as super high production value/premium YT content, with favorable terms if the service were to fail. I imagine that's a no-brainer considering it's like 2-3 days of work at most.

Breaking: Quibi is considering shutting itself down, according to people familiar with the matter. The streaming service has been plagued with problems since launching in April. https://t.co/0SkdDAm9Sj - The Wall Street Journal (@WSJ) October 21, 2020
no bets from me but good post! i wonder what will happen w/ all the content tied up in this service, whether it will go to another streaming service (maybe sold individually on itunes or amazon if not added to peacock/hulu/netflix/youtubered) or if it will just be under lock and key like jojo at her old label. same thing for stuff that was pitched or in the process being produced... hm
Thanks bb! I mentioned it briefly in my last Quibi post, but something that is wild is that Quibi doesn't own much (any?) of the content on the platform - the creators do. And in most of their contracts, they are allowed to repackage it and sell it to other platforms in between 2-7 years. So when Quibi finally goes under/is bought, I think a lot of the shows will just get recut in to movies and streamed somewhere else.
I know someone who worked on one of their shows and their understanding was that the contract was pretty favorable to the creators if Quibi was to go under because the service hadn't even launched yet when they negotiated it. So all the stuff will probably end up on other streamers and/or YT.
Honestly Katzenberg should have capitalized on that misunderstanding and had people arrive on doors with pizza boxes...when they open them, it's a phone playing a Quibi show.
