Ah okay so the casting age difference is reflecting real life in this instance (unlike Oldmans and Middletons age difference as I learned from another comment).

I mean they’re playing William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies. They had a 34-year age difference.

Charles Dance and Amanda Seyfried have a 39-year age difference so it’s close to accurate.

I mean, she could have suffered worse (Oldman for example). Amanda and I are the same age, thinking of that last scene of Dracula Untold... I can't say I'd be complaining if I was in her place.
