Given his past behavior, I'm tempted to not believe him but those are certainly some receipts.

Apart from the fact that if he directed a film under another name, it wouldn't be on his IMDB and very few people would probably remember.

Probably a junior film school student who lied about directing a soft core porn and said fake name to seem cool.

I went to USC for film so I will throw some shade and say that seems like something a UCLA film grad would do.

Like: "Oh, I directed this. My name isn't on it, that's my pseudonym." Meanwhile he was a PA on the shoot picking up rental equipment and hanging near craft services.

But then again, who knows anymore.

Hmm we got 2 different timelines.

If we go by Rose’s statements she was 15 when they met.

But if we go by Payne’s statement she was 18 in 1991.

If the showtime film production did happen couldn’t they get proof of it from showtime themselves? That would prove he did have a deal to film with them and would give Rose’s story more validity.

I was always curious about what went down between Sandra Oh and him. Feel like she could share some stories from thier marriage.

I feel bad for Rose, people discount her so often because they want her to be this perfect victim which will never exist.

I’ve always been curious too but I don’t think it’d be fair for it to occur this way.

Whether nothing or something happened during their marriage it shouldn’t have to be forced out questioned because of other revelations.

Idk I get mixed feelings when previous or current wives or girlfriends get thrown into the mix cause you don’t know their situation. I’m only a little bit more critical when it looks like they might’ve known something like Weinstein’s ex-wife.

Ditto. Sandra Oh dated him for 2-3 years before marrying him and she can’t win by making a statement. If she goes the Vanessa Paradis route people will slam her, if she says he did XYZ people will slam her for not speaking out sooner.

Yep. I don’t like this forcing of the hand business.

People can be absolute sweethearts to you but monsters to other people. Reconciling that and needing to put out a public statement or getting confronted with that by an interview at random is not fun or fair. Especially if she did or didn’t have issues in her marriage.

I mean, I have absolutely no reason to doubt her accusations, but I think his rebuttals could be verified quite easily, no?

It's as easy to deny shit as it is to make accusations, so, while his rebuttals seem solid, they don't move me much. "I never directed a film for Showtime under a different name". Maybe...but, maybe you did, and it can't be verified because you...used a pseudonym....

Exactly. If I’m being accused of something you bet your butt I’m gonna look for all proof that I was not at said place or time.

I feel like if he’s telling the truth he should’ve been filing that paperwork to have the ready. Because like you said his statement alone isn’t enough.

Not the best example but I remember when Justin Bieber got accused and he care out with the receipts to dispel it. I don’t know how accurate they were but he clearly did not come to play.

I mean this was also in the last eighties or early nineties. I highly doubt anyone was keeping receipts in anticipation of a sexual assault allegation decades later. I think it’s unrealistic to expect him to have the kind of receipts JBiebs had. Also, it’s not that hard to check production dates, etc.

The receipts Justin pulled out were from 5-6 years ago.

No I agree, I’m just saying that in mean time he probably should be getting the proof he needs to validate his statement.

I assume people at showtime have logs(?) of who worked at their station during a period, of course it might take a while since like you mentioned this was in the 80/90s timeframe.
