Good luck to anyone whose constantly partying but still thinks they're healthy, as if drinking/drugs doesn't impact your immune system.

Young people aren't lucky, they just have better immune systems and the arrogance to forget that anyone else exists. I guess they're lucky that they can fund this kind of dumb shit though.

Not very many people have actually had Covid, *probably*. That's why we aren't going to see herd immunity any time soon. It has nowhere close to the infection rates of any influenza type, which doesn't mean it isn't deadly or is 'the same as the flu', it just means it hasn't spread through the population like people think it has. I think most people assume they've been exposed at some point and honestly, unless you live with someone who had it you probably have NOT been exposed in a meaningful way. I live with a nurse who has been exclusively working on the covid floor since March (not the ICU so less aerosol spread but also less protections) and he had a negative antibody test a month ago, meaning he has never had it. I'm 3 times more likely than someone who doesn't live with a person who is regularly exposed to get it but neither of us has.

This is just to say that it's not really luck, it's numbers: both age and the amount of people who could have actually exposed them to the virus.

That's my friend. Our mutual friend and I always wonder why he hasn't gotten the virus. He's even been to Vegas 3 times already! Like ugh.

Yea and even partying aside I think in general a lot of people are not as healthy as they think they are.

one of my roomates has literally smoked weed every day since he was 13 (he's 33) and didn't think his lungs would be fucked up. I...people really think they're immune to everything.

not to mention his partner is very highrisk but he still refused to wear a mask for months.
