OP Note: I'm extremely mad at my undergrad alma mater's treatment of grad students.

My Husband finished his Phd back in 2014 and it made me realize that I don’t ever want that type of degree

I am so grateful I am doing on online grad program so I won’t have to deal with going to in class lectures. I am also lucky the crisis hotline I volunteer at is letting me do my first year field practicum at the Crisis hotline. I was afraid I couldn’t find an agency due to covid.

His “Is College still worth it?” Solidified my decision on not going back to school but I gotta find a way to make money, I’m done doing entry level jobs

Gotta love my employer there was an email sent about how the top three positions- president, provost and some other dipshit would take a 5% pay cut until we opened campus back up - mind you this reopening wasn’t based when students returned it.

Just so brave - their sacrifice

Three weeks later: gorl we’re coming back to campus!

At mine the VPs/deans are taking 5%, exec officers 10% and the president is taking 15% pay cuts for FY21. They’re also reducing our retirement contribution by half for FY21 to 5% which sucks but it’s better than people losing jobs. Well, I guess they’re not actually reducing that until October 1, so less than the full fiscal year.

I'm especially mad at UC Santa Cruz because I had a really great education there (despite Hasan's constant clowning on it) but UC heads were already slashing entire programs in the 2008/2009 crash (when I graduated btw) as they gave execs raises and them punishing grad students is horrific.
