Not surprised. There's a convention I try to hit every year that's slated for October but I wouldn't be surprised if it got cancelled because it requires time and a headcount months in advance to happen.

SDCC was the con I looked forward to all year to go to--seeing old friends, going to cosplay after parties, even just sipping Pina coladas by the hotel pool and chilling by Seaport Village--I just hope by late July I'll at least be able to do a little road trip/go on a mini vacation

Our governor in Ky has talked about reopening things in late May or early June and he’s a big time liberal. I can see why you’d cancel an event as big as comic con though. There’s no way to avoid people there.

there was no way in hell an event with over 100,000 attendees was ever going to happen over the summer (or this year at all), no matter how much concerns 'lessen'.

as others have said in the past on here, i think they held off on "officially" cancelling the event due to insurance reasons
