It was inevitable but for the best. I immediately went and fully refunded my flight, which was a nice relief.

I'll probably defer my ticket to 2021 and decide leading up to next year if I want to attend again.

I'm preparing for the possibility that I may not have any conventions this year, not all of them have officially canceled yet but I think it's likely considering my governor was talking about possibly not holding any big events and that seems to be the feeling all over the west coast (where I do the majority of my cons.)

I just really *really* need to pick up some more freelance work if that is the case. I've already lost a lot of money this spring.

This is for the best. Foremost for safety but Hollywood is at a standstill. Projects are being pushed back and delayed.

Yup! I work in digital advertising and they hold a conference every March for clients and agency partners.

They also do smaller workshops at their office throughout the year. Facebook ads are a big business.

Did you do it this year or did things kick off too quickly re: Corona.

Yeah I was planning on going to a convention for the first time in 14 years next January but I doubt I'll even feel safe doing that now.
