After weeks of men doing interviews about how awful Portrait was and how Céline and her group of female filmmakers are all man-haters, it's pretty clear Portrait was purposely shut out.

Also, WTF @ them having Claire Denis present Best Director. The fucking disrespect.

Beineix said that Celine and her group of female director friends calling for more diversity in film is equivalent to modern day McCarthyism and said she was gonna destroy French cinema. How? Who the fuck knows. The former head of Cannes said her and other female filmmakers are egocentric feminists who only want power. Some other guy came out and accused her of a conspiracy to get him fired because she has used the CNC to fund her movies and he's against that.

There's more but I really don't want to ruin my sanity by finding names. Basically men have lost their mind when it comes to women making movies.
