Their cold war ended when Dax allowed her to bring home a rescue dog. "I didn’t get an apology, but I got a dog! [Since Shepard is allergic to dogs and requires hypoallergenic animals only] this is so much better than an apology." She added since then, Dax has been on top of helping with the household chores and anything else.

my aunt and uncle started calling each other mommy and daddy for their children's sakes but now their kids are both grown up and they still do it and it really throws me every time i haven't seen them in a while.

i assume that's what's happening here.

IA. I'm not really a fan of either of them for other reasons, but being honest about how hard it is to be in a long-term relationship is something couples should aspire to. Too many are passive aggressive and resent each other for years/decades.
