I know a lot of people on ONTD hate vegetarians, but fuck it. Even though I'm far from perfect, it's still better than doing nothing and being apathetic, or simply not caring. I respect him so much for giving his voice to those who don't have it.

people who make snide comments all the time about vegans/vegetarians are annoying.

People can get so defensive when they hear I'm a vegetarian, as though it's a judgment on them that I don't eat meat. As though they are any sort of factor at all in that. It's the weirdest knee jerk reaction.

Or "but bacon der her her!!!1!" (or equivalent) is the other go-to response. So dumb, like jfc.

They’re judgemental because they know they’re doing something that’s not beneficial and you remind them of it and nobody likes to be reminded they’re uhm actively contributing to climate change really

I'm not a vegetarian but I will never get the love for bacon people have. It really doesn't need to be on everything (or anything in my case I don't like the smoky taste).

People will ask me why I'm vegetarian and when I honestly tell them it's for environmental reasons and because I love animals they get so defensive and are like and are like "Well I love animals too". Like okay don't ask if you don't want an answer.

I thought ONTD (and a lot of people in general) hate vegans, not vegetarians.

I'm a vegetarian and I definitely received a lot of sarcastic comments about that or people calling me a hypocrite because I'm not 100% pure and perfect, which I have never claimed to be. Go to most animal welfare posts, and you'll see a lot of people talking about how they don't give a shit.

There’s a difference between vegans and vegetarians.

I grew up around vegetarians who were doing it for cultural and religious reasons so if anyone hated on them it felt like a form of bigotry to me.

That’s a big no-no in my book.
