I was part of the Television Nominating Committee this year (now that voting has ended, I can mention it), and I completely agree.

I was sitting there perplexed when the nominations came out. Did members not get the 100 or so DVDs or utilize the codes? I honestly have no clue what the committee was thinking. I felt like my fellow committee members just voted for the safe choices, their friends, their favorite actors, or they didn’t watch any of the FYC materials. We pick the top 5, and then those are tallied to create the top 5 nominees overall that the rest of the SAG-AFTRA members vote for on the main ballot.

It’s a shame though...there were some really great performances that were truly overlooked this year.

Hopefully next year will be better.

I tend to like the SAGs the most because they move quickly though I am feeling nothing this year, TV or movies. So I'll probably watch on low volume like I did the Globes

same. This year I DVR'd the GG and fast fwd through like 85% of it. It's 2020, people don't have the attention span to sit through a lot of the filler BS.

Same, I have it open in one window but I have Netflix open in the other window. I just don't care about what got nominated this awards season.
