she's lucky she's even booking netflix original romantic comedies. seriously..

i honestly don't understand. it's not even like woody made a good film recently to "justify" working with him. i'm not a film buff he's past his prime.

He never had a prime. Every film he made is the same. None of them are good. He has no idea how to write women. Or men either to be honest. All the male characters are him.

I read an article by a journalist who got given access to everything he’d ever written - including unpublished stories etc - and that was what they said. Like, this guy has one story about a self-insert that he just repeats ad infinitum.

Wow I never heard of this journalist

Did his rabid sad lonely male stans try to bring the journalist down cos I feel like it’s likely

SERIOUSLY. All his movies are about him, mediocre at BEST and 90% of the time reflect his creepy desires.

MTE all his movies are trash, none of his characters ever stand out. They're all basically, old-ass dude fucks a 20-year-old woman who's also an asshole somehow. It's baffling.

Yep, I watched one without knowing it was his film. Netflix recommended btw. I paused it because something was off about it and googled it. Woody Allen film. I was like ONTD was right, his films are just fan fictions with self-inserts. I think I googled it because the white actor playing him usually has comedic roles and I know his ass is from the South so I was like, why is he putting on this accent, his regular one is better.

Same. The last one I saw was "Midnight in Paris" & visually it was stunning at parts (especially the detail in Zelda Fitzgerald's costume) but the script was garbage. Of course all the women are unreasonable and crazy and all the men (even the men who historically were hot garbage) are just geniuses.

EXACTLY! All of his movies are fanfics self inserts "Old crunchy dude who is an asshole who is "Oh so deep and intelligent" falls in love with a young girl, who is oh so quirky"

Right? It's wild that actors keep caping for him thinking he'll help their careers but he hasn't helped ANYONE's career since Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine... and that's not happening again.
