Whooooooo man I remember when the Bad Romance music video drop. That was i c o n i c and a moment. She was on top of the world after that.

Gaga definitely benefitted from the fact that NO ONE in the game at that point was doing anything interesting. There was so much filler artists that weren't gonna last past a year or 2 going around the time she debuted. None of the previous mainstream heavy-hitters were doing much either.

But to her credit she earned her success cause she was the only one putting in the WORK and time into her career. There was a clearly curated image and presentation that hit all the marks.

I always thought she maybe should've stayed in this era and image a little longer before it got too "all over the place" with the born this way era.

She crammed like five years worth of work, it usually takes about five years for artists to see their work make an impact, in like two.

her momentum (during this period) died with the 'alejandro' video

i quite like BTW and think it's a stronger album than TFM, personally (once you cut the filler)

Of all the amazing songs on this record , Alejandro was the least deserving to be a single

I still remember reading everyone's comments on those posts.

Also when it dropped I kept calling all my friends to come to my dorm room to watch it. I couldn't get enough of it, everyone was blown away.

Yeah a good chunk of her success was her attention to detail and putting in the WORK. It was so exciting because everyone else was just so LAZY and uninspired.
