If they own Hulu why do they need Disney Plus? Why not put everything on Hulu?

So they have two streaming services and take over the streaming bizz because people will give their first borns to Disney at this point. It's amusing seeing all these critical articles about Netflix programming suddenly popping up recently. While no articles about the dearth of shit being peddled by Disney.

Why would they charge for 1 product when they can charge for 2?

Because Disney wants a streaming channel with only Disney content, and nothing over PG-13, so keeping with its family friendly brand. Hulu has tons of stuff that isn't theirs, and not PG-13, and ads.

Which means they'll be in keeping with other studio's streaming services in having a channel just for their content, which again, isn't Hulu.

It's a smart move financially. It allows them to keep their brand intact (which they work hard to do) and keep the price point there low...for now (I'm sure they'll jack that up later, LOL). And they can then potentially bundle it with Hulu for a slightly higher price, to get all the content they won't get on the Disney + channel. And if people don't want to get Hulu and not pay, people can currently watch that with ads, for free.

Disney are bastards, but they aren't stupid bastards.
