Directed by Petra Costa, the new Netflix original, "The Edge of Democracy", explores the Brazilian current political scenario, focusing on the impeachment proceedings of Dilma Rousseff, the first women to become the president of Brazil, and how it facilitated the rise of a far-right fascist president.

This is one of those things that I can't wrap my head around.

I can understand the mental gymnastics people make about corrupt politicians but voting for Bolsonaro (or Trump) is like saying ¨if this person was my neighbor, he would be killed in a week, that's how awful he is, but I'm going to vote for him anyway¨ like...

They don't care, i have a friend who is gay and his conservative brother (that supports him btw) voted on bolsonaro proudly. Another said to me these days "i voted on him bc i didn't have a choice but didn't expect things would be so awful". My dad decided to pay the fine and no vote, now he only complains things are bad.
