PART ONE

Thirteen years ago, artists like Daniel Powter, Cassie, and Paris Hilton were topping the charts. Many of the artists who created their major 2006 hits were never able to replicate the success. However, it's always fun to revist the past and remember what we were doing when we were listening to these songs back in the day. This list continues "part two" of our 2000's one hit wonder series. Let's take another look at the best one hit wonders of the year 2006!

BROOKE HOGAN - ABOUT US

Brooke Hogan's "About Us" was released as the first single from her debut album Undiscovered in June 2006. The song features Paul Wall and is the first single released by Scott Storch's record label. "About Us" peaked at no. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2006. The song also peaked at no. 21 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

ASHLEY PARKER ANGEL - LET U GO

"Let U Go" is the first single from Ashley Parker Angel's debut solo album, Soundtrack to Your Life. In the U.S., the song debuted at no. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, the third highest debut of the year. The song peaked at no. 12 in its second week on the Hot 100, while reaching the top 10 of the Pop 100 companion chart at no. 9.

MARIO VAZQUEZ - GALLERY

Mario Vazquez's "Gallley" was written by Ne-Yo and Stargate. The song, one of the most added records at Rhythm radio stations across the United States on its first week out, was sent out to Top 40 radio in April 2006. Both English and Spanglish versions of "Gallery" were on radio and released digitally. The single managed to peak at no. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and managed to fare better on the Billboard Pop 100, peaking at no. 15. It debuted at no. 49 on the Australian ARIA Top 100 and reached the top 15 in France.

THE PACK - VANS

Vans, ha impact! The pack released "Vans" in the summer of 2006 and the song eventually peaked at no. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song made the rap group internet sensations for a short while until they faded into oblivion.

MATISYAHU - KING WITHOUT A CROWN

Matisyahu's "King Without A Crown" was originally from his 2004 debut studio album and then a shorter edited version was released as an official single in late 2005 in support of his second studio album. In 2006, the song hit no. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 7 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, making it Matisyahu's biggest hit of his career.

LETOYA - TORN

Letoya's torn was released in March 2006 and soon became a hit, having a high airplay, just missing out the top ten on the U.S. Hot 100 Airplay charts at no. 11. "Torn" became a hit on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, peaking at no. 2. It also entered the top 20 on the Rhythmic Top 40 and Adult R&B charts and eventually peaked at no. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. In September 2006, the song was finally released in other countries all over the world, namely the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia and became a moderate worldwide hit.

TEDDY GEIGER - FOR YOU I WILL (CONFIDENCE)

Teddy Geiger's "For You I Will" was used as the theme song for the CBS comedy-drama series Love Monkey, on which Geiger played a recurring guest role. The song became a hit despite the show's cancellation and reached no. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video features MTV Laguna Beach's Kristin Cavallari. Teddy has gone on to be a successful producer/songwriter, working with the likes of One Direction, Lizzo and Shawn Mendes.

OK GO - HERE IT GOES AGAIN

OK GO's "Here It Goes Again" was the band's only single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, until later on in 2014. The song peaked at no. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. Featuring the band dancing on treadmills, the video became a staple on YouTube; it was one of the most watched videos, with over 52 million views, until it was removed from their channel. In addition, the single peaked at no. 36 on the UK Singles Chart in October 2006, marking their second UK Top 40 single and their third UK Top 75 single.

DJ WEBSTAR & YOUNG B - CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

"Chicken Noodle Soup" became a hit thanks to it's viral accompanying dance. Originating in Harlem, the dance spread virally on YouTube with hundrends of videos of kids dancing to the song. The song peaked at no. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached no. 15 on the US Hot Rap charts. Young B aka Bianca has gone on to be a member of the cast of Love & Hip Hop where she continues trying to work on music.

ANGELS & AIRWAVES - THE ADVENTURE

Angels & Airwaves' song "The Adventure" received increased attention when it aired on a Smallville trailer in 2006. After the season finale of Smallville aired, "The Adventure" climbed to no. 30 on Amazon. The song peaked at no. 55 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and no. 5 on the US Hot Modern Rock charts. It had moderate worldwide success charting in the UK, Germany, Ireland and Scotland.
