"I don’t think it’s reasonable to ask the production people to investigate the backgrounds of every actor they hire"
????? and ????? background checks are only for five lines on screen and over?

also OP, saw this tweet and just went 'nah, not today' so kudos for still sharing the wealth.

lol what incredible bullshit. Especially given the industry's long history of blacklisting women for being "difficult" aka. having an opinion now and then.

I guess no-one needs a police file for that.

lmfao but it's reasonable for jobs for us regular folks to have them for jobs? also it's not like a background check is even hard these days. it's all paperwork then done through the police, the most the studio would have to do is wait/pay.

This is bullshit and you should absolutely do background checks on employees. Don't tell me a multi-million-dollar production doesn't have the time but a convenience store does.

I'm not here for blaming the author, though. That seems like an odd move.

A large number of retail workers go through background and social media checks just to be able to serve your ass a meal or ring you up for a pair of jeans. But yeah, bruh, it's totes unreasonable to expect the entertainment industry to have any sort of standard for actors 🙄
