He's worked with him, but you don't see him hanging out with him outside of X-Men franchise films.

From what I know, other than having worked with him on the X franchise, they're not friendly or close. Like Singer would keep them all up in Vancouver during filming, and he wasn't one of the group who socialised with Singer as Sir Ian was very close to Rebecca Romijn who from what i've heard absolutely HATES Singer and would hold her own parties and like back yard cast BBQ get togethers.
