Variety interviewed Sir Patrick Stewart in light of ongoing Oscar buzz for his role in "Logan". Here are some highlights:
  • Patrick credits the unique nature of "Logan" is due to it being a Western/road trip movie combo than merely a superhero movie, especially due to Xavier's and Wolverine's role reversals of protector and troubled souls.
  • Patrick lost 20 pounds for "Logan" to appear as frail as possible
  • Patrick would only return to "Star Trek" if someone comes up with a compelling enough story for him, like uniting all existing "Star Trek" cast members
  • Patrick is currently adapting an unnamed novel into a London stage play
  • Patrick supports all the sexual assault victims currently coming forward and believes Hollywood needs to change to prevent it happening in the future (understood the term "casting couch" in first year of drama school)
