I appreciate this, because it acknowledges that (gasp) something exists other than angels and demons.

Woody Allen is a vile and disgusting piece of shit. He also made films that completely changed cinema and had a lasting impact on American culture. You don't have to choose one to acknowledge as fact and the other as fiction. They can both exist at the same time. One of the greats in cinema can still be a disgusting piece of shit.
