It was barely 7 a.m. when Kyuhyun woke up to the loud music coming from his neighbor. He grumbled, pulled his cover all over his body, and tried to sleep, but once woken up, he can’t sleep. So he did some stretching first then went to get ready for school. Around 7:15 a.m., he pulled out a box of milk from his fridge, but then he noticed that Sungmin’s milk opened. The last time he saw that box sealed was yesterday night, when Sungmin went all crazy and ran away. He was surprised that the box was empty, but shrugged after he saw that it was already 7:19 a.m.(School starts at 7:30 a.m.)so he pulled his school bag and ran fast to school.
Cho Kyuhyun was the only son of a rich family. His parents died in an accident when he was barely 4 years old, so he grew up with his grandpa and his single aunt of 30 years old. His grandpa taught him everything from morals to ancient writings and multiplying; that’s why, he was placed in a higher grade than the grade he should be in according to his age. When he got into DongKuk High School, he asked his grandpa if he could live by himself near high school. Of course, his grandpa accepted that idea just with the condition that he would pay all the bills. Kyuhyun didn’t have problem with that since the only thing he wanted was to live by himself separated from all the luxury.
In high school, he met Donghae during recess. Donghae was known as the “most wanted” student for being handsome and for having a bright personality, so Kyuhyun didn’t want to get involved with him in case he had rabid fan girls. At recess, Donghae was a victim of a prank made by boys who hated him; he got hit by a pie across a few tables away from Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun, being the good person he is, went to Donghae and helped him wipe his face. Since that day, Donghae and Kyuhyun became good friends. Then he became friends with Eunhyuk. He met Eunhyuk through Donghae and immediately, they formed the “3 musketeers.” The next person he befriended with was Sungmin. He still can’t remember why -despite the first weird conversation he had with Sungmin- he became friends with him. Maybe because they were both alike; they liked to read books, both intelligent in math, have good manners, etc. Then he met Ryeowook thanks to Sungmin who helped him from bullies. Lastly, he met Ryeowook’s “boyfriend”, Yesung. He used to tease Ryeowook and Yesung being boyfriends, but Sungmin would make him stop.
After being friends with Sungmin for more than a month, he started to think that Sungmin had something hidden. At first, he just thought that Sungmin was weird because of what happened in theater, but he found out that he was sick thanks to Eunhyuk. Sometimes, he would see Sungmin walking quickly to Eunhyuk’s house or a park with lots of trees around. The weird thing is that he never saw Sungmin come out of those places. Yesterday night was the second time Sungmin ran away, and he was sick of chasing him, so he just went back home.

When Kyuhyun went inside his homeroom classroom, the first thing he saw was Sungmin talking with Eunhyuk happily. Deeply inside, he felt anger seeing Sungmin smile because he spent hours worrying over Sungmin’s state, but at the same time, he felt relieved and calmed that Sungmin was really there.
“Kyuhyun,” Donghae said as he stood in front of Kyuhyun just a mere centimeter away. “Are you going to stand there the whole day or what?”
Since he was busy looking at Sungmin, he didn’t notice Donghae until the latter waved his hands in front of him.
“Hi Donghae,” he said before moving towards his desk, interrupting their conversation by standing between their desks.
“Where are your manners, Kyuhyun? Eunhyuk asked, shoving Kyuhyun away from his view to keep his eye contact with Sungmin. Obviously Kyuhyun noticed how they stared at each other, so he again put himself between them, this time facing Sungmin.
Sungmin felt that serious aura coming from Kyuhyun that the only thing he did was hide his face with his hands. Out of instinct, Kyuhyun took Sungmin’s hands away from his face and whispered: “follow me.” Kyuhyun pulled him out of the classroom and took him to the rooftop, where Kyuhyun thought no one would be there except for them.
“Why did you run away last night?” Kyuhyun asked while holding onto Sungmin’s shoulders. “You’re acting weird nowadays, care to explain why?”
“I… I felt bad like the last time,” Sungmin reasoned, looking at Kyuhyun with saddened eyes. The last thing he wanted to happen was this: to lie to Kyuhyun about his true identity. “I don’t know what I have, but recently, I’ve been feeling bad…”
“Then you should go to the hospital!” screamed Kyuhyun impatiently. Sungmin’s eyes started to water as this was the first time Kyuhyun yelled at him. “I’m sorry… I’m just worried about you. How can you feel bad and then have that face of I-don’t-feel-bad?”
Sungmin broke into tears after Kyuhyun hugged him tightly. “I’m sorry Min,” Kyuhyun whispered next to Sungmin’s ear. “I promise I won’t yell at you again.”
Suddenly, rain started to pour and they ran all the way to the door to refuge themselves from it. Kyuhyun wiped Sungmin’s tears away and ruffled his hair. “Let’s go back to class,” said Kyuhyun, pulling Sungmin back to class. One thing Kyuhyun doesn’t know is that whenever Sungmin cries, rain starts to fall.
Back in class, Mr. Hong was giving instructions on a project until Kyuhyun and Sungmin appeared by the door. “Where were you guys?”
“We went to speak with the director,” Kyuhyun lied. “He wanted to ask us something, that’s why we came late.”
“If that’s the case… take your seats.”
As soon as they took their seats, Mr. Hong said, “Sungmin, you’re paired up with Eunhyuk and you, Kyuhyun, you’re paired up with Donghae.”
Immediately, Kyuhyun raised his hand to get Mr. Hong’s attention. “May I be paired up with Sungmin?”
Mr. Hong, completely shocked, asked, “Why do you want to be paired up with Sungmin? I thought you always paired up with Donghae…”
“Well, let me be with Sungmin for the first time,” Kyuhyun said, completely serious about changing his partner.
All the while, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, and Donghae (who were all behind Kyuhyun for some weird reason) were waving and mouthing “NO!” silently. Obviously the teacher noticed that act then turned to look at Kyuhyun (who was oblivious to the entire act behind him) and firmly said, “No.”
So at the end of the class, Kyuhyun accepted to work with Donghae if he gets to work with Sungmin on the next project, while Sungmin, Eunhyuk, and Donghae sighed in relief. Donghae knew Sungmin’s condition after Eunhyuk told him. It wasn’t because Eunhyuk wanted to tell him; it was because he once saw Sungmin walking fast to Eunhyuk’s house at night. Right when Sungmin was about to enter, he saw white fur coming out of Sungmin’s neck. Obviously, that is unbelievable, so he decided to question Sungmin. He knocked until Eunhyuk opened the door with a serious face.
“I know what you’re going to ask,” Eunhyuk started, silencing Donghae with his finger. He closed the door behind and took out his cell phone from his pocket.
“I’m going to explain everything through here.” Eunhyuk typed, and then passed it to Donghae, who merely nodded after reading the message.
“Believe it or not, Sungmin has a curse since more than 100 years. That curse makes him turn into a fox every full moon… and he can’t age. Also, I’m cursed with “eternal life.” We both don’t know how to break the curse…”
When Donghae started to read, he put a shocked expression, but when he ended, he just put an expression that Eunhyuk couldn’t decipher.
“Don’t worry, your secret and his are safe with me.” Donghae typed.
“Thank you,” Eunhyuk whispered then hugged Donghae tightly. Donghae blushed and hugged back.

Sungmin and Kyuhyun were walking for the next class. An uncomfortable silence surrounded them until a ball hit Sungmin’s face without any notice. 5 meters away from where Sungmin was, a kid shouted, “sorry!” and ran away.
“Aish, that damn kid,” Kyuhyun muttered then turned to look at Sungmin. “Are you okay?”
Kyuhyun forced Sungmin to look at him directly since the latter wouldn’t let himself be embarrassed in front of everyone. When Sungmin opened his eyes, Kyuhyun was shocked to see blue eyes instead of brown eyes.
“S-Sungmin, you have blue eyes,” Kyuhyun whispered.
Sungmin immediately closed his eyes, shoved Kyuhyun away, and ran as fast as he could, While Kyuhyun stayed on the same spot dumbfounded.
What’s going on, Min? Can’t you tell me what you’re hiding?
