Summary: Sungmin tries to make Kyuhyun open his eyes and finally notice him.
A/N: Sungmin’s POV. Sorry for all my grammar-spelling mistakes D:
After I read the note, I smiled at how it was decorated. It was full of hearts with a drawing of, I suppose, us? Siwon was next to me, looking at the drawing and smiling at the same time.
“Isn’t this a cute drawing?” I asked Siwon. He nodded.
“I guess he finally realized everything,” Siwon said as he walked to our classroom.
I didn’t understand what he said, so I just shrugged and walked inside the classroom. When I noticed that Kyuhyun’s seat was empty, I wasn’t worried at all. It was a habit to see him enter the classroom a little bit late, but when he didn’t show up the last 15 minutes left of class, I started to worry. I mean, who doesn’t worry over a friend whenever he or she does not come to class? When the bell rang, Siwon and I were walking for the next class when all of a sudden, Donghae pulled me back and gestured Siwon to keep walking. Siwon made a confused face and kept walking.
“Kyuhyun is missing, did you notice that?” Donghae whispered next to my ear.
“Yeah, I noticed that, so what?” I asked, looking straight to Donghae.
Donghae smacked my head lightly and shouted, “What are you thinking?!”
I covered his mouth and took him to the bathroom, where I thought it could be the perfect place to have some privacy. People who were in the bathroom left as soon as they heard Donghae shouting incoherent words.
“Donghae, calm down,” I said, patting his shoulder. “Do you really want people to listen to your rant?”
“Sungmin… you should be worried,” Donghae said calmly. “I don’t know what happened, but I saw Kyuhyun running somewhere. I thought that wasn’t weird, but then when he didn’t appear in class, it changed my mind.”
“Don’t worry, he must be somewhere… just that we need to go find him, I guess?”
Although I acted like if I wasn’t worried, I was really worried. The fact that Donghae smacked my head, which it never happened before, made me realize that I should go find Kyuhyun. But first, we had to go to class or I would say hello to detention.
“Lee Donghae, Lee Sungmin?” the teacher called.
“Present,” Donghae said, walking towards his desk.
“Why are you and Sungmin late?” the teacher asked, marking check on our names in attendance list.
“There were lots of students walking in the hallway,” Donghae lied. “Sorry Mr. Kim, it won’t happen next time.”
When I sat down on my chair, Siwon tapped me behind. I turn around just to see Siwon worried.
“Did you go find Kyuhyun?” he asked. I nodded side to side. “Oh, then good. Don’t search him.”
I frowned and turned to look at the blackboard that was full of letters. Why did Siwon tell me to not search Kyuhyun? If I remember what I did this whole day, I spent more time with Siwon than with Kyuhyun. The only time I spent with Kyuhyun was when we were doing our physics project. Not even that time. Siwon sat next to me in that class just to get Kyuhyun pissed off for sure. What a good friend I am.
When the class finished, everyone started to pack their things and leave for home. I grabbed Siwon’s arm before he left.
“Siwon, I don’t want to sound mean but, what is your problem?” I asked with a serious tone.
“I don’t have any problem,” Siwon said, smiling. Why is he smiling?
“Then, can you tell me why all of a sudden you are so attached to me?”
“You are my friend. I can’t be with you for a day?”
“Yes but… forget it,” I said before releasing his arm from my hold. “See you tomorrow.”
“Let’s walk together,” Siwon said, taking my hand and pull me out of the classroom.
“Wait, I need to go to my locker,” I said, taking my hand from his hold. “Wait for me by the gates.”
I ran before he could protest or something. When I got there, I sighed and opened the locker for the first time of this day. Finally my bag became lighter as I put all my notebooks and books into the locker. After that, I saw something attached to the door of my locker. It was a strawberry flavored candy. I unwrapped and popped it into my mouth. Then I asked myself how a candy got there. I didn’t have candies with me yesterday, and obviously, I didn’t open the locker until now. But then, I remembered that Donghae had a spare key, so I guess he put it there? I don’t know, I’ll have to find out who put it there and give thanks. I closed my locker and walked towards the gates.
“Hey Siwon,” I wave at Siwon as he turns around to smile. “Sorry I’m late.”
“No worries, Min,” Siwon took my hand again and pulled me out of the school grounds.
I tried to release myself from his hold, but he just tightened. So at the end, we walked together holding hands. It was 5 p.m. already when we walked near a café. Surprisingly, Kyuhyun came out of there with a bag, full of bread as he walked without looking at our direction.
“Hey Kyuhyun,” Siwon called as Kyuhyun took out his cellphone and dial someone’s number.
Apparently, Kyuhyun didn’t hear Siwon’s call, because seconds later, my phone vibrated. Then the ringtone “I love you oh, thank you” by MC Mong sounded in the air. It was the ringtone I put for Kyuhyun’s number. I took it out of my pockets with my free hands and picked up his call.
“Hello?” Kyuhyun said. “Min, where are you?”
“In front of you,” I said. He immediately turned his head toward us and hung up.
“Where were you? You disappeared from school at the last 2 hours of class,” Siwon said, looking Kyuhyun seriously.
Kyuhyun was somehow dumbfounded and didn’t answer Siwon’s question. Instead, he looked from my face to our hands then back to my face.
“I can’t handle this anymore,” Kyuhyun said before he came and tore us apart. Then he looked at Siwon furiously and said, “Go get your own, Minnie is mine.” Then he pulled me away from Siwon.
I turned my head to look at Siwon, and all I received from him was a friendly wave with a smile pasted on his face. What the hell? Is that a smile I see?
Soon Kyuhyun slowed down his pace and pulled me next to him. He moved his hand from my wrist to my hand and rubbed the back of it with his thumb. I could still see a frown plastered on his face, so I just stopped walking. He saw I wouldn’t move, so he turned to look at me and sigh. I walked closer to him and peck on his cheeks. He finally calmed his expression.
“Where were you?” I asked, squeezing his hand.
“I was at the rooftop for the last 2 hours of class.”
“What were you doing there?”
“Just thinking… controlling my jealousy.”
