Just a small rant. Consider this a public service announcement, so I don't have to beat anyone about the head and neck with a blunt object for saying stupid things to me ( Read more... )

Open season... chewymah February 8 2004, 20:17:26 UTC
I hate it too when people think that it's open season. There's nothing quite like the wrong "compliments" to set the day off on the right foot. Europe sounds like it was too much fun and that I must stop you from having that much fun again without me. I am a lovely shade of green thinking about the Pieta and Paris and trains and vomittous plane passangers. Utterly green I tell you!! I'm glad you're back, even though I can't see you (no, my eyes are open and I'm NOT blind, you're just not within 900 miles of me). 'Tis good to be able to call and annoy you again.

Yeh, the definition of the word 'compliment' or 'appropriate' seems to be warped in some people's minds into something that means 'wierd backhanded/passive-agressive insult that will make me cry and/or want to hit you. Hard. Repeatedly.' Feh.

and yeah, it's good to be home. The trip was incredibly amazing and fun, but so fast that while awesome, it felt a bit like work, what with all the moving and short time to absorb things and all. I'm like a career tourist or something. It felt like my job to see EVERYthing as fast as possible. I wouldn't take it back or anything, but..it's good to be home. It's nice to be moving a bit slower. My next trip to europe will either be much, much longer, or I'll stay in one place for at least four days before moving on, even if it means I only get to go to two places.
