Title :  [Drabble] All For You
Rating : PG13 / Drama / Angst / Fluff / Friendship
Pairing : Sho/Jun / (very tiny) Ohno/Nino
Word count : around 900 words
Summary : set 2 years into the future. He wouldn’t say this was planned - there wouldn’t be much point in stating out the obvious, really - and he guessed Jun didn’t need him to anyway. He’d been trying to come up with something much less theatrical than this one for months on end, but he’d rather have Jun guessing till the last minute than be accused of being lame.
Note : lovely A, your drabble! Sorry, this wasn't a continuation of the one shot I wrote for you but something else. I hope this is still okay though. Thank you again for your request (and help!) <3

(This fic is also available in AO3)

He wouldn’t say this was planned - there wouldn’t be much point in stating out the obvious, really - and he guessed Jun didn’t need him to anyway. He’d been trying to come up with something much less theatrical than this one for months on end, but he’d rather have Jun guessing till the last minute than be accused of being lame.

It had been over seven months since their official ‘break’, over seven months of trying to make do of what the four of them had going in terms of their individual work commitments, because that was what they’ve all agreed on from the start. It hadn’t been easy - somehow, that gaping emptiness they’ve all felt in the morning of New Years day still lingered, and it didn’t matter that they all prepared for it because doing so had meant so little when the pain they all felt was something they wouldn’t be able to forget for as long as they live, feeling it down to the marrow of their bones as if it had been engraved into their being like second skin.

It was painful, somehow, knowing that there was no Arashi to come back to after a while, even though he knew it’s for the best.

Still, they soldiered on. Well, it wasn’t like the group’s break meant the friendship would undergo the same treatment too because that wasn’t the case. True to their promise, the five of them made this tradition to meet over dinner at least once a month, over the loser member’s house (they do janken to decide whose member was going to host said dinner), and they never missed a month since.

This time, however, he planned on making it extra special.

Well, that’s probably an understatement, and he’s certain Nino had already spent the entire time they were going through the plan rolling his  eyes at him but he simply chose to ignore him. After all, it wasn’t like this was all him; the others were just as enthusiastic as he was when he proposed this plan, so there was that.

He planned to do this exactly on Jun’s birthday, but their schedules didn’t match up so they had to set it at an earlier date, which was today, the 25th.  It was Nino’s idea to do it on a weekday, and he guessed Nino was right.

When he got there, unsurprisingly, the venue was still rather empty, save from the staff they’ve arranged everything with. But he knew the others were on their way, sending their exact locations on their group chat every damn minute.

The first to arrive after him was Aiba, followed by a smirking Nino, then Jun. Sho hadn’t counted on Ohno making an appearance today - the last time they saw the older man was earlier this week, for their monthly dinner held at Aiba’s place - but he guessed Jun didn’t count him being present here today either. When Jun appeared, the three of them - him, Aiba and Nino - greeted him Happy birthday, loudly, at the same time the stage lit up and the huge screen they’ve set up along with it, at the same time ARashi started playing. Nino did the courtesy of handing Jun a mic - the rest of them had one already - and the four of them started singing.

Jun was tearing up even before they reached the second part, and he guessed that was unavoidable. He’d planned this knowing he’d be tearing an old wound open, but only because he wanted Jun to know that it was still okay to plan concerts even though it wasn’t going to happen in the near future. That Jun didn’t need to stop thinking of planning one because one day, very soon, he’d have to do it all over again.

The emotion on Jun’s face was something he wouldn’t ever forget, especially when he got closer to him and Jun simply flung himself towards him, body shaking with emotion he could hardly contain. He found himself digging his fingers into Jun’s hips, holding him close, firm and steady, heart full to bursting as Jun shook against him. It’s happiness and nostalgia and maybe pain all rolled into one, and Sho knew exactly how it felt.

The music continued, Nino and Aiba’s voice shaky despite it all, and then somehow, another voice joined theirs, and it sounded achingly familiar that Sho found himself whipping his head around to check.

He heard Ohno’s voice before he even properly saw him, felt Jun drawing another shaky breath when he saw Ohno too.

“You couldn’t really wait your turn, could you?” Nino was saying just as Jun’s fist jabbed him on the chest. He chuckled, dropping a soft kiss to Jun’s head and holding Jun a little while longer before he let him go. Ohno was still on stage, dancing all by himself before Nino and Aiba caught up to him and tugging him to their arms.

Jun sniffed into his chest and murmured a muffled, “You guys are the absolute fucking worst, I swear to god.” Making him smile despite it. He grinned and pulled away, only so he could offer his hand for Jun to take.

In the background, ARashi was still playing.

He pulled Jun to him and dropped a kiss to his knuckles, hoping he could give Jun more.

“Happy birthday, Matsumoto-san. I hope you enjoy your present.”

Jun smiled, rolling his eyes as if he couldn’t help it. “I’ll get you back for this, Sho-san. I promise.”

He bumped his fist against Jun’s chin lightly, loving the way Jun’s eyes lit up like pretty lights on a Christmas morning.

So pretty, and his. “I’d like to see you try, Jun.”

"Hey lovebirds! Come on, let's sing! The fisherman is here, come on!" they grinned at each other and joined the other three. It was a good day, and Sho hoped it would only get better after this.

But that was okay. Jun was happy and that was all that mattered. He was fine with this, really.
