and you totally care. You just don't want to admit it.

I have to say, there is way too much to write about. I have a journal entry that i was going to dackdate but now i don't think i care. I had my first day of orientation and i returned home exhausted. I don't fucking now why since i just sat there. I did have to wake up at 6:30 this morning. Shrug.
hee, hee, the thing about relocating is having to come out ALL THE FUCKING TIME especially since my research interests are so specific to queer folks. And it's an interesting thing to do every time. Everytime is new, like a snowflake. And i won't lower my voice, you know, i'm not planning to live a whispering life.
For all of my concern, everyone that i met was beyond cordial and tetering on being genuinely nice. I ate lunch with a girl who i believe is a politically likeminded person. I didn't think I'd find those types here so quickly.
I don't think the grad school thing will be a huge problem for me. I realize that i am prepared for the classes because i am excited about them. I'm prepared for research because i have lots of experience and really enjoy that. My one problem is synthesizing all of my interdisciplinary ideas into a cohesive statement. I screwed that part up royally at Oberlin and so now, the thing i need to prove for myself is that i can pull off the thesis. And i'm even excited about realizing what's hard for me and knowing that i can at least avoid some of my past mistakes. I do worry about advising. My senior experience really put the fear of God in me for that aspect and i don't know if any of the faculty here will jump out as a fantastic fit for me.

I also have to ask how many songs to you know are written from the perspective of a fictional serial killer? huh? huh? Because the Greenskeepers have song called Lotion. It's from the perspective of Buffalo Bill from the silence of the Lambs. It's incredibly funny. I never thought i would have the phrase "It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again". It brightens my day. Cannibalism, yay!
