RECS & and smart aleck!chekov FTW
I seriously don't know how that st_xi_kink meme is still going strong, but fuck yeah! I just read 2 seriously awesome things that you should go check out RIGHT NOW.
(1) How To Get Your Man by boombangbing ---> Chekov woos Sulu! Valentine's Day dance! Twitter in space! I love epistolary fic and this is beyond awesome.
(2) And Selections of Graffiti From the Enterprise Men's Bathroom. Make sure you scroll down to the More effective than any notice board comment section. It's PRICELESS.
Also, I've been listening to the Star Trek audiobook read by Zachary Quinto, which is wonderful btw, and I am so enamored of Chekov! I mean, he's adorable and all in the movie, but in the novelization he's also kinda of snarky and has a minor case of the grumps and I LOVE IT. Seriously, I wish more people would put that in his characterization because I think it shows in the movie a bit when Chekov is put in charge of the conn and he does gives that sarcastic little, "Oh, yay." I want to see more of that! Because he's not just a bouncy, naive, enthusiastic guy.
He's got a little McCoy in him, that's for sure. (And not just in the dirty way, okay??!)
