Classical conditioning can be seen in my life in the following ways:
Everytime I smell a burnt tire or hear any noises around my car when I drive, I automatically get scared. It takes me back to the time where I got in a car accident. The smell just stimulates fear. I get really nervous. Since the event was so traumatic, I associate the smells and sounds that I experienced during the car crash with fear.
Before the car crash, these stimulus never really affected my senses or responses. I would smell or hear the stimulus and then forget about them. There was never an immediate response. Do grand events always make you respond in such a way? You just seem to never look at certain things the same way when you have experienced it in a different way. It's difficult to alter because it has been imprinted in my mind so deeply.
