http://rainlgbt.smackjeeves.com/comics/1047163/prologue-1/ This is a new webcomic that Nicole introduced me to the other day. The main story is a about a trans girl in high school. It also deals with some gay and lesbian issues as well. I really enjoy it so far, so I recommend it. I love the art style.
Some of it really hits home for me like how the main character Rain is struggling with figuring out how to tell her siblings she is trans. Then the aunt asked if she planned on avoiding it forever. It is pretty tough to figure out when the best time to do it is, and just like Rain, I keep delaying it too. It is just so hard to say to people. Changing their perception of you forever.
Also, Maria struggles with a similar problem where Rudy believes that she is in some denial that she is a lesbian and Rudy theorizes that she hopes that she will be randomly straight one day. Like Maria, I lived for years with denial that I will magically different and not have these trans thoughts since I was in elementary school. The more I tried to forget them, the worse it slowly got.
On another note, I really like the name Rain. Nicole suggested that I maybe I should take that name but I hate to be a flip flopper on my name. Brenna works still for me, although I could consider getting Rain as a middle name, heh.
