I absolutely LOATH it when people are judgemental. Thank goodness for your friend that he has wonderful friends like you Kay!! As far as I am concerned, if/when my kids meet a special someone, who will love them as they deserve to be loved, I DO NOT CARE what sex, colour or whatever they are. I wish more people were more open-minded and accepting. :(
He must feel horrible. It's interesting that the people that are supposed to be christian are so much more judgemental and way less tolerant of someone different than them. Jesus talked to prostitutes and such. I'm sure they didn't feel judged by him. Really sad. Although I can't say I don't judge, either. I can't stand criminals and have no tolerance for them!
My husband’s family is like this. They’re forever saying comments and making jokes about gays. It’s disgusting. They don’t like black people either and make comments. My MIL still calls black people “Coloreds”! They’re “good Christians” though. Puulllease. I can only imagine that if any of their grandkids come out, they’ll freak. I hope that if anyone in his family is gay, they’ll have the courage to be themselves in spite of the rest of the family. But with that kind of hatred and intolerance, I doubt it

OMG - sounds like my In-Laws. They are "born-again" and they are broke, but they won't rent their "income-producing extra house" to "people of colour". I have a hard time reconciling how people whoi are so "religious / christian" can be so predjudiced / racist at the same time. They are the same way with gay guys etc... (Of course they don't think much of me either. but I stopped worrying about THAT years ago!!!)
I haven't been inside a church for YEARS, and quite frankly people like them put me off!!
