#032 - Josh Blue and other stuff
So last night Lori and I had tickets to go see comedian Josh Blue at the Funny Bone. Some of you who watch the NBC show “Last Comic Standing”, might know him as the tall frizzy haired guy who has Cerebral Palsy on that show. This guy was amazingly funny. Also, even though he makes fun of himself a lot, I think he really shows people that even if you have a disability, you don’t need to mope and think the world owes you something, you have to go out and grab life by its big dangly balls and squeeze until you get something out of him. I have heard so many comments about how he is an inspiration to families with disabilities. At one point a woman who was wheelchair bound and had CP did a groan/laugh combo (its how she laughed) he rose his arm up in the air and said “Power to the People”. For some reason, I just found that awesome that he was aware of someone else in the crowd who was like him (but worse off) and acknowledged them in a funny, but honestly touching way. ANYHOW, it was an amazing show, and I laughed until my cheeks and throat hurt. Beforehand we had dinner at Adobe Gillis, it wasn’t bad…paid for THAT choice later though! After the show we went to the Cheesecake Factory, and I suddenly found out that a slice of cheesecake is obviously going for the same price as gasoline these days. When the counter guy rung me up for 2 slices of cheesecake at a total of 13 dollars, I started to hand him my Speedy Rewards card.
Work has kinda sucked today. Really really slow, which in turn makes the clock run really really slow! Which in turn makes me really really tired, which then makes me really really really….fuckin REALLY bitchy! That’s right folks, I can get bitchy, I know I can, I’ve seen me do it! I did though just do something to wake me up and cheer me up all at the same time. I tripped an elderly man down the stairs here at work. OKOKOKOK I didn’t do that! I actually brewed a pot of French Vanilla coffee in the break room. So hopefully that caffeine jolt kicks in sooner than later!
Other than that I really have nothing for ya, no exciting tails of glory or grandeur. I do have a semi long weekend in front of me though, with all the potential in the world!
QUESTION OF THE DAY!!!!!
Online poll, I’ve been told I will never make it to 1000 posts with this whole thing. I mean I’m at 30 already, all of them have had some sort of substance or meaning, well to ME they have had substance and meaning. Do you all think I will actually make it to 1000 posts?
