You're seriously awesome for posting this; I was thinking we needed an appreciation post or friending meme or capslock party or ANYTHING to just get on better terms with each other and have fun you know? This could not have come at a more proper time, Eri! /hugs ♥
How did you find out about him? It was in 2003, I was browsing a Swedish website for alternative lifestyles, and ended up in a forum thread about Japanese music. Managed to get a listen to Dir En Grey's "Râison D'etre" and then Malice Mizer's "Beast of Blood" and "Le Ciel". That being said, one was Klaha, one was GACKT, although that didn't become very clear to me until I started listening to them more and more. I also heard Vanilla ~Unplugged~ during this time and laughed. xD;
What was your first Gackt song, or songs? The first solo song by him was Vanilla ~Unplugged~ as I mentioned before, but at the time I was also only really into heavier or stranger music (such as Cinema Strange)I then heard Mizérable and thought it was Malice Mizer at first. Mizérable was the gateway

You should totally make another friending meme, mainly because I couldn't participate in the first one. =3= *hugs*
OMG, that's such a difference in songs, if I were you I would have laughed too. XDD
"I would say GACKT is the music I always come back to, no matter what, and especially so in times of great stress and great need. It's somehow like the childhood friend or the brother I can always, always rely on." OH SAM, THIS SO MUCH, SERIOUSLY!!
YES. I could not fathom it was the same guy-- and you know, I barely knew he had a solo project and had been in Malice Mizer. The first stage of finding MM did not involve "Oh, it's Klaha now" so when I heard Vanilla I was like "LULZ MAN U MAD?" ♥
-I found out about G through L'arc en Ciel and YT XD
What was your first Gackt song, or songs?
-My very first song was Lust For Blood, and it was done as an AMV with the anime Hellsing.
What about his music attracted you?
-when he could move me with his songs, even though I don't understand the words, I understand the emotions <3.
Why did you become his fan?
-as stated above, and when I finally sat down and watched Diabolos, I was bawling by the end...and that led me to find out more behind him, which led to Jihaku, and the rest is history <3. Now the poor guy is stuck with me XD...and it's not just his music, but things he's said has just made so much sense to me..he's touched my heart, moved my soul and broadened my mind. My heart, mind, body and soul are attracted to him. And he's also eye, heart, and soul candy for me <3. did any of that make sense? XD LOL
( ... )
Gawd, I love Lust For Blood so f-ing much. The darkness of the song is just so... I can't even explain it! And the DIABOLOS performance just blew me away, the moment I finished watching the whole concert I knew I made the correct decision of becoming his fan.
It made sense hun, as I said before, his beauty is not only in his appearance, but also on his soul, the words he says, the music he creates. He's a beautiful human being, because he can help people with both his music, and his words... simply put, he's the beautiful moon that protects us from the darkness, or sadness that surrounds us. He's an ever present protector, as well as a beloved companion, and source of strength in our lives.
Oh, and I'll reply to your message in a bit, let me just reply to all these comments. ^^
Well, it was anime that led to Laruku that led to G XD...I'm sometimes asked if I'm a fan of Jrock, and I say no, I'm a fan of G. Now, Hyde will always have a place in my heart for leading me to G though XD...but noone elses music moves me the way G's does.
And a big fat THIS to everything else you said XD
Okey dokey, take your time, you know where to find me XD.
I will admit I was more of a casual fan for a couple of years until the watching of Diabolos. I don't understand why it took me so long XD. I think it's because when I used to listen to music, I never gave it the attention it deserved. Watching Diabolos, I was trying to take everything in, and then WHAM!!! It hit me XD. And then Jihaku, etc, etc ,etc XD LOL
I also forgot to mention that I love how perfectly imperfect he is...I like it that he has faults and flaws...I don't have to like the faults and flaws themselves, but I like he has them XD. Now, did THAT make sense XD LOL?
And I agree with your take on watching Diabolos too...I knew then that it was meant to be. It's still my fave concert...RRII tied with it, but did not beat it.
This is a really good idea! I noticed the fandom has been kind of at odds lately what with the tours and all.
How did you find out about him? My now ex-best friend came to my house over the summer in 09 and stayed with me for a week, and she was trying to get me into Japanese music. She showed me Vanilla by Gackt and I remember liking it but thinking it was weird. Didn't get into Gackt until another friend showed me Moon Child and the picture with Hyde on Gackt's shoulders. Fell in love with both of them, and she gave me a link to Setsugekka. From then on, I have been a HUGE fan.
What was your first Gackt song, or songs? Vanilla and Setsugekka
What about his music attracted you? I really love Gackt's voice and how he has a variety of music. He has slow ballads, then more rock songs, and I love how he incorporates other instruments besides the usual guitar into his music.
Why did you become his fan? Because Gackt has such incredible music how could I not?
If you could tell him something, face to face, what would you say? Please

I've somehow managed to stay away from the rage... maybe lack of time on the internet helps. xD
How did you find out about him? Good old Dirge of Cerberus. ^_^ I always download the OSTs of the video games I play so tadah~! GACKT makes his way into my life! <3 I'm really, truly glad Square Enix got him to be Genesis. If they didn't my life would be extremely different.
What was your first Gackt song, or songs? REDEMPTION. I actually didn't like it at first because I was listening to it on my computer (bad quality speakers) xD. But when I heard on while watching the credits, I fell in LOOOOOVE! When I searched up the English translation, I loved it even more and I actually started crying in front of the computer. ^^ Luckily my dad was asleep and no one else was there.
What about his music attracted you?Mostly the words. I find I like a song 10 times more once I read the (usually) epic lyrics. His type of music is also perfect for me. Not too rockish, or popish. It's juuuust right. Before I knew about him, I never really had an

He is an idot, isn't he? xD But we love him anyways ne. <3 I never thought I'd fall for an idiot. ;)
Unfortunately I was there when the whole "2nd European tour" drama was going on and that made LJ extremely gloomy for a while. :( But those DVD covers brightened everything up right away. ^_^ Amazing what one little thing can do to a person. <3 That's one thing I love about him.

Perfect words, seriously!
I'm glad you stayed away from all the ugly going around, it's better to give it any attention and just enjoy the fandom. ^^
