You're seriously awesome for posting this; I was thinking we needed an appreciation post or friending meme or capslock party or ANYTHING to just get on better terms with each other and have fun you know? This could not have come at a more proper time, Eri! /hugs ♥
How did you find out about him? It was in 2003, I was browsing a Swedish website for alternative lifestyles, and ended up in a forum thread about Japanese music. Managed to get a listen to Dir En Grey's "Râison D'etre" and then Malice Mizer's "Beast of Blood" and "Le Ciel". That being said, one was Klaha, one was GACKT, although that didn't become very clear to me until I started listening to them more and more. I also heard Vanilla ~Unplugged~ during this time and laughed. xD;
What was your first Gackt song, or songs? The first solo song by him was Vanilla ~Unplugged~ as I mentioned before, but at the time I was also only really into heavier or stranger music (such as Cinema Strange). I then heard Mizérable and thought it was Malice Mizer at first. Mizérable was the gateway to the rest of his music though.
What about his music attracted you? The strong yet soft vocals, classic music intermixed with rock. There's something almost spiritual or-- soulful feeling to all of his music; and it's not like anything I've ever heard before!
Why did you become his fan? Because of the reason stated above. I would say GACKT is the music I always come back to, no matter what, and especially so in times of great stress and great need. It's somehow like the childhood friend or the brother I can always, always rely on. ♥
If you could tell him something, face to face, what would you say? I think you have helped me become a better person. I am still struggling, but your music is giving me that extra push.
edited because i am vain and fighting with the html!
You should totally make another friending meme, mainly because I couldn't participate in the first one. =3= *hugs*
OMG, that's such a difference in songs, if I were you I would have laughed too. XDD
"I would say GACKT is the music I always come back to, no matter what, and especially so in times of great stress and great need. It's somehow like the childhood friend or the brother I can always, always rely on." OH SAM, THIS SO MUCH, SERIOUSLY!!
YES. I could not fathom it was the same guy-- and you know, I barely knew he had a solo project and had been in Malice Mizer. The first stage of finding MM did not involve "Oh, it's Klaha now" so when I heard Vanilla I was like "LULZ MAN U MAD?" ♥
