I am reading a collection of short stories by Deborah Eisenberg, entitled
Twilight of the Superheroes. The stories do not have any connection to super heroes. Just a reference to a group of characters in one of the stories. That is also the title of a legendary (I have read it)
treatment that Alan Moore once did for DC comics. That is not relevant, other than to establish my nerd credentials. But no, I only mention this book because of a great line from the titular story:
"Do dogs have to fight sadness as tirelessly as humans do?"
There is more than that, but I found that a striking line for a number of reasons. It is both funny and sad. And clearly a foolish question. But don't take my word for it, let's check in with the Percy and Pooch just to be sure
So, no... dogs do not fight sadness as tirelessly as humans. I think that is why we keep them around.
