Flaming Pappadams!
Last night I went over my parent's house to give my Mum another vegan cooking lesson. We were cooking eggplant dahl with pappadams and rice...so I'm merrily mixing the dhal whilst my Mum cooks the pappadams in the microwave. The dhal smells kinda smoky but I just think it's burning a little bit. Mum and I are chatting away and then we see a glimpse of flames in the microwave. I start yelling at Mum to get the pappadam out but she just calmly looks at me and says " I can't touch it while it's burning". But then the paper towel went up in flames and the entire microwave was full of fire and me and mum start panicking, so she grabs the flaming pappadam and paper towel and puts them in the sink and all these flaming ashes start swirling around the kitchen landing onto the blinds. Beware! The seemingly humble pappadam can be extremely flammable.
