Yeah, I'm a terrible LJ updater. I only post to bitch these days. I should have a lot more time to bitch-post, though, 'cause I just got laid off Friday. Fuck.
It's not nearly as bad as it could be; I'm getting five weeks pay and I qualify for maximum unemployment, but it still sucks. I don't have any idea what the current job market is, I'm getting all the unemployment filing stuff out of the way first.
I've also got a new computer coming, which (of course) I ordered the day before my layoff. Well, at least it'll give me something else to do. Maybe I'll look into one of those new-fangled MMORPGs that the kids are all talking about these days. At least it keeps them off my lawn.
To finish updating all of you on my old-guy health issues from last winter, I did finally pass that Damned Stone in mid-December. I have a photo, if anyone really wants to see it. If anyone requests it, I'll put it behind a cut in a future post. Also, during the diagnosis process for the kidney stone, I found out I'm mildly diabetic. In retrospect, that's not a big surpise, since it runs on my Dad's side of the family. Also, Fat Bastards like me are more susceptible to it. It's not really a big deal, though, I've just made a few dietary changes and have to take a couple of pills per day.
Hey, maybe I'll try to use some of my free time to get into better shape! Heh, right. We'll see how bored I get.
